What happened

On August 4, 2023, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) initiated a period for the general public to provide input on the Second Batch of the Draft List of Harmful Water Pollutants (referred to as the Draft List). This list consists of 11 categories of substances. Within these categories, there are 9 organic chemicals and 2 heavy metals and inorganic compounds.
