During the third phase of the project, which took place from January 2021 to December 2022, China International Development Cooperation Agency and China’s Ministry of Commerce provided support. The project was carried out by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). Throughout this two-year implementation period, China CDC sent experts to Sierra Leone to aid the nation in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic. Their efforts included conducting pathogen detection for cases of fever of unknown origin, ensuring the biosafety of the Sierra Leone-China Friendship Biological Safety Laboratory, enhancing the training of public health personnel, and creating guidelines for virus hepatitis prevention and control.
