The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported that Taiwan has registered its initial dengue fever fatality of 2023. Over the course of a week, the number of domestic cases rose to 630, with an increase of 206 cases. The CDC disclosed that a woman in her 40s, residing in Tainan, succumbed to dengue fever on July 21, having been admitted to the hospital on July 18. This marks the first death in Taiwan’s most severe domestic outbreak of the mosquito-borne illness in the past ten years.
