According to the weekly bulletin of outbreak and other emergencies of the World Health Organization, 574 cases with nine (9) deaths (case fatality ratio 1.6%) have been reported from four (4) provinces across Burundi. In epidemiological week 27, the week ending 9 July 2023, 12 new cases with zero deaths were reported. The new cases were reported from the provinces of Bujumbura Mairie (n=8) and Rural Bujumbura (n=4) with the North and Isare districts respectively being the main hotspots.
