China Tests AI-Powered Precision Artillery Shell

The Chinese military conducted a test on an AI-driven laser-guided artillery shell, which has the capability to accurately hit human-size targets up to a distance of 16km. This precision surpasses that of any currently operational Chinese artillery projectile. During its flight, the guided shell gathers and evaluates environmental information, including factors like wind, temperature, and air pressure, in order to make necessary adjustments to its trajectory. To withstand the extreme heat and shock of artillery fire, the shell’s computer chip is designed to be as simple as possible.
