What happened

The U.S. Department of Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC) has granted BAE Systems a $37 million contract to develop the Next Generation Evolved SeaSparrow Missile Launch System (NGELS). The Next Generation Evolved SeaSparrow Missile Launch System (NGELS), which is a fixed-angle launcher mounted on the deck, utilizes BAE Systems’ Adaptable Deck Launcher (ADL) concept to house and deploy ESSMs (Evolved SeaSparrow Missiles) from Mk 25 missile canisters.
