A fire broke out on Tuesday, April 22, at a Roseville manufacturing plant on Calahan Road. The incident prompted the Roseville Fire Department to declare a shelter-in-place order for the area due to the risk of chemical release. Residents had to remain at home with windows and doors closed. The order was lifted after an air quality test in the early afternoon, and later, the Fire Department declared the fire at the plant under control. RCO Engineering, the owner of the facility, said that there were no injuries during the emergency and announced an investigation into the causes of the incident. The company added that the fire would not affect business operations.
RCO Engineering produces seating for the automotive, aerospace, and defense industries. Besides the plant in Roseville, it operates 12 other facilities across the United States. The company and the Roseville Fire Department have not released further information on the incident.
