What happened

According to reports in the local press, a prohibition on bathing has been implemented at Spiagge Bianche and along the Fine river, within the province of Livorno, Italy. This action follows the findings of standard sampling procedures conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency of the Tuscany region (ARPAT), which indicated levels of intestinal Enterococci and Escherichia coli exceeding permissible limits. This prohibition is temporary and will remain in effect pending notification from ARPAT that the aforementioned parameters have returned to acceptable levels.
