What happened

Two individuals, one of whom was an agent of the National Intelligence Service Agency, sustained injuries in the detonation of a homemade explosive device (HME) in Butembo, North Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo. The device, which was concealed at the Bulengera commune office, was detonated using a mobile phone, according to police statements. Law enforcement agencies have attributed the attack to rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).
