ROSATOM began constructing the first civil and erection base (CEB) industrial buildings as part of its low-power nuclear power plant (NPP) project in Uzbekistan, announced this April 2025. The project is led by Atomstroyexport JSC (ROSATOM’s engineering division) and aims to establish critical infrastructure for the future NPP. The industrial buildings will house equipment, operational facilities, and support systems essential for the plant development. This project is an important step in Uzbekistan’s nuclear energy ambitions in guaranteeing long-term electricity supply and laying the foundation for a regional nuclear industry.
This initiative has been launched to enhance the energy security of Uzbekistan, providing a stable and sustainable power source for the future. By investing in nuclear infrastructure, Uzbekistan aims to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, modernize its energy sector, and strengthen regional cooperation in nuclear technology. This project aligns with the country’s strategic vision for energy diversification and economic growth.
