What happened

During an environmental policing operation in the municipality of San Giorgio delle Pertiche, Padua, Italy, an area spanning approximately two thousand square meters was discovered to be utilized as an unauthorized waste disposal site. This operation was conducted by officers of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Padua in conjunction with personnel from the Naval Air Operations Department. The investigative efforts, which incorporated the use of a specialized aircraft assigned to the Venice Air Section, revealed a substantial volume of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste, visibly abandoned. Discarded materials included gas cylinders, depleted batteries, fire extinguishers, and domestic appliances, violating environmental regulations designed to safeguard public health. Consequently, the area has been placed under seizure. The owner, a forty-year-old individual with a prior criminal history, has been reported to the judicial authorities for the unauthorized management of waste materials.
