La Spezia, simulation of LNG leak accident

A full-scale training exercise involving forces from both land and sea was conducted in Panigaglia, in the province of La Spezia. This exercise encompassed simulated rescue manoeuvres and the extinguishment of a fire, involving the release of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and the subsequent formation of a ‘jet fire.’ The incident, designated as a ‘top event,’ included a rescue unit of ordinary firefighting teams, nautical specialists, and a CBRN (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear) unit.
