A Norwegian teenager has been arrested in West Yorkshire and charged with firearms offences connected to a national security case. The teenager, identified as Johannes Kongsnes Natland, was arrested by police officers in a Huddersfield hotel on March 19. He had flown into Manchester Airport two days earlier from Norway. The Metropolitan Police said the investigation is led by counter-terrorism detectives, but it is not considered a terrorist-related one for now. Mr Natland is charged with possessing two guns with ammunition. He was initially arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder but has not been charged with such an offence.
The investigation is ongoing, and Mr Natland should appear in court at the Old Bailey on April 11.
