A team from the European Civil Aviation Agency is expected to visit Pakistan in early April for a special training programme. The session will take place at Islamabad Airport and will be the first specialised aviation security training for airport staff by two European experts in international security standards. The sessions will cover key areas such as Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) and the use of Explosive Detection Dogs (EDD). This initiative aims to bring Pakistan’s aviation security up to global standards. Over the past year, Pakistan has made significant efforts to improve aviation security and safety standards through numerous training initiatives and equipment upgrades. As a result, the European Commission lifted the suspension of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and authorised Airblue to resume flights to Europe.
