The AGI news agency has reported an incident in the Turkish province of Kocaeli, wherein approximately 650 individuals suffered poisoning, allegedly from the consumption of chicken shawarma. Local health authorities indicate that an initial group of three hundred patrons of a kebab establishment in the Korfez district reported experiencing nausea and abdominal discomfort. By the close of the day, the number of individuals presenting at provincial medical facilities with symptoms consistent with poisoning had risen to 648. Of those affected, 646 have been released from care, while two remain hospitalized; their conditions are not considered life-threatening. An investigation conducted by specialists from the Regional Department of Agriculture and Forestry, involving the analysis of food samples obtained from the restaurant, revealed deficiencies in adherence to established hygiene protocols. Consequently, the aforementioned establishment has been closed, and two individuals have been taken into custody.
