Close to a stationary demonstration conducted by members of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) and their representative, an individual blew himself up near Lucky Pass in Mastung, approximately 50 kilometers south of Quetta, within the Balochistan province. The detonation resulted in no injuries or fatalities. The aforementioned party members and their leader were unharmed. The demonstration was held to express opposition to the detention of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) members, including their leader, Mahrang Baloch, who was apprehended under the provisions of counter-terrorism legislation. Government authorities have stated that security measures were implemented upon granting authorization for the BNP protest. An inquiry is currently ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the presence of the suicide bomber in the vicinity of the demonstration. The identity of the attacker and further details of the incident have not been disclosed at this time.
