An explosion transpired at the API oil refinery in Falconara Marittima, within the province of Ancona, Italy, resulting in a conflagration that affected a portion of the facility. Preliminary assessments from fire service personnel who responded to the scene indicate that the fire originated in the oil processing unit, emanating from a high-pressure system, potentially due to a rupture in a pipe or valve. The systems implicated in the incident had recently been reactivated following a period of maintenance inactivity. Presently, the conflagration has been extinguished, and there are no casualties resulting from the incident.
