According to sources from ANSA, a Technical Table has been convened by regional Councillor Thomas De Luca with the aim of coordinating actions to progressively reduce and eliminate perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the waters of the Umbrian territory. The Round Table, which was coordinated by Councillor De Luca, saw the participation of representatives from the Regional Health and Welfare Directorate, the Local Health and Environmental Protection Authorities, the integrated water service managers, the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Umbria and Marche, and the Regional Directorate for Land Government, Environment and Civil Protection. The objective of the Round Table was to transform Umbria into a region that is a benchmark for sustainability and environmental protection, in compliance with current regulatory obligations. This will be achieved by implementing ongoing monitoring activities, sharing the results with the relevant Agencies and coordinating initiatives to ensure the healthiness of water, with the aim of progressively eliminating potentially toxic and carcinogenic substances. The operational path defined during the Technical Table meeting foresees the next meeting convened for the month of April, with subsequent updates on a regular basis.
