What happened

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has summoned the Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran to “strongly protest” against the continued presence of groups it says conduct “terrorist” activities. According to reports, the presence of certain groups has been deemed to be in violation of a recent security agreement signed by Iran and Iraq in Baghdad. Although the groups were not specifically named, it is believed that the reference is to Kurdish armed groups, including the Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party.
