UXO found at Montebello Vicentino

The procedures for neutralizing unexplosive ordnance (UXO) recently located within the TAV construction areas in Montebello Vicentino, Vicenza province, by the Eighth Regiment of the Folgore, were executed over five hours. After its retrieval, the UXO was placed on a designated transport convoy for relocation to the Alonte quarry situated in Vicenza, where controlled detonation will be conducted. As a precautionary measure, the site remediation operation necessitated the temporary evacuation of residents residing within the established safety perimeter and the temporary closure of the A4 motorway between the Montebello Vicentino and Montecchio Maggiore toll stations. No property damage or personal injury was reported during the clean-up operations.
