What happened

Newcleo, a multinational company operating within the field of nuclear energy, is currently developing liquid lead cooling technologies for fourth generation nuclear power plants at the ENEA Research Centre in Camugnano, Bologna. The company has expressed interest in adopting the recycling of radioactive waste model currently in operation in France in the near future. During an institutional visit, Stefano Buono, CEO and founder of Newcleo, stated that each tonne of nuclear fuel from European countries that will be recycled in France by Newcleo will earn the country one million euros. The introduction of this model in Italy has the potential to enhance the nation’s energy independence and stimulate economic growth. This assertion was made in a short statement reported by ANSA.
