What happened

On 26 February, a spokesman for the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced a project to purchase and install cutting-edge Computed Tomography (CT) Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) and an advanced baggage handling system at Karachi, Multan and Faisalabad international airports. The project is made possible by a Japanese grant from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which is contributing 2.2 billion yen to improve airport security infrastructure.
