France ready to assist Kazakhstan in construction of Nuclear Power Plant

France is ready to cooperate with Kazakhstan in the construction of the first Nuclear Power Plant in the country and in studying the prospects for developing Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), said Minister-Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad Olivier Becht at a meeting with Kazakh Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev, reported the Ministry’s press service. During the meeting, the parties discussed energy transition and the fight against climate change. They emphasized that the increased use of renewable energy sources would help achieve decarbonisation goals while strengthening Franco-Kazakh economic cooperation.
