What happened

In the municipality of Rende, located within the province of Cosenza in Italy, a tanker truck carrying 50 thousand liters of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) has capsized, resulting in a conflagration. In response to this incident, the local firefighters, along with the assistance of the regional CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) unit, were deployed to extinguish the flames. The intervention, which required over 14 hours of work, necessitated the evacuation of some residences and the temporary closure of traffic on the roads adjacent to the affected area. Following the secure containment of the affected area, the CBRN Unit initiated LPG transfer operations. After the successful completion of these operations, the remaining gas was combusted. No damage to property or persons was reported.
