What happened

As stated in the WHO Weekly Bulletin On Outbreaks and Other Emergencies (week 07: 10 – 16 February 2025), two new confirmed cases of mpox were reported in South Sudan during the epidemiological week ending 16 February 2025. This brings the total number of confirmed cases of mpox in the country since 7 February 2025 to three. Notably, the two new cases were determined to be epidemiologically unrelated to the first case.
