What happened

The Nigerian military claims to have killed 133 terrorists in separate operations in Borno State and the North-West. During the operations, they also recovered two calibrated aircraft engines from a forgotten and unidentified crash site, one double-barrel cannon gun, and 16 missiles. According to Major General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, in Borno military forces killed 75 terrorists, arrested 138 suspects, and rescued 46 hostages. Meanwhile, in the North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA saw multiple attacks against insurgent networks across several states, killing 58 terrorists, arresting 11 suspects, and freeing 16 kidnapped victims. Notorious terrorist leader Kachalla Mudi also surrendered with two associates in Kaduna state, handing over to troops one General Purpose Machine Gun, an AK-47 rifle, and a fabricated AK-47 rifle. In Zamfara state, security forces killed fourteen terrorists and seized several AK-47s, Dane guns, rounds of ammunition, two motorcycles, and a radio. They also responded to Boko Haram and Islamic State activities in the area and conducted extensive fighting patrols, killing other terrorists and recovering more weapons. High-profile terrorist leader Muhada Muhammadu, also known as Yellow, was arrested with four associates with intelligence-led operations in Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kebbi states.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to ensure security in the mentioned regions and urged citizens to provide intelligence to help ongoing counterterrorism operations.
