The Russian scientific and production enterprise NPP (Nauchno Proizvodstvennoi Predpriyatni ) Doza has completed acceptance tests for the new radiation control system SRK (Sistema Radiastionnovo Kontrolya) Phoenix. The system has been created to monitor radiation parameters for ships and nuclear icebreakers, providing quick information on the vessels’ safety. NPP Doza, which has developed radiation safety systems since 1991, claims to have used innovative technology for its creation and that the product is uniquely reliable and easy to use. SRK Phoenix is intended for the nuclear icebreaker Chukotka that is currently being built in St. Petersburg. The ship is 173 meters long and 34 meters wide and can break three meters thick ice. After completing the tests, SRK Phoenix was sent to St. Petersburg for the installation aboard the Chukotka. NPP Doza will supervise the process and take part in testing the system at sea.
