What happened

According to official sources, during the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union of States in Moscow on 6 April, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko disclosed information about a joint Belarusian-Russian operation to detain a terrorist.

The KGB and the FSB carried out a joint operation as part of a defence system that includes strengthening border security to increase the level of protection of the State of the Union from international terrorism, uncontrolled immigration, arms and ammunition smuggling, drug trafficking and illegal economic activities, the Belarusian President said.
