A hazardous waste recovery plant has been seized in Grazzanise, in the province of Caserta, Italy, due to significant irregularities in the management of accumulated materials. A joint investigation by the Provincial Police, the Regional Company for the Caserta Environment (ARPAC), and the Environment Department of the Province revealed that the owner of the plant had been accused of illegally managing hazardous waste and non-compliance with the requirements of the permit provided by the legislation in force. The police personnel, led by Commander Mario Mennillo, have verified the presence of materials packed without compliance with safety rules, leaking and flowing freely on the ground, and serious violations of environmental regulations.
