French nuclear power producer EDF said first-quarter like-for-like revenues rose 34.6 per cent to EUR47.8 billion (USD52.64 billion), thanks to higher electricity and gas prices, which offset a drop in nuclear output due to reactor outages and strikes in the country. France became a net importer of electricity for the first time since 1980, while nuclear production fell to its lowest level in 34 years due to a record number of EDF reactor outages.
