In Schio, in the province of Vicenza, Italy, a chlorine leak from a local swimming pool has been reported, leading to the evacuation of the facility as a precautionary measure. The intervention of firefighters on site with the CBRN unit, a specialized unit designed to respond to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear emergencies, revealed a bucket containing granular chlorine that had been damaged by a chemical reaction, the heat of which was believed to be the cause of the alarm. The causes of the accident are currently under investigation. There have been no reports of individuals being affected by the incident.
