Florence, Molotov cocktail against Carabinieri barracks

A bottle containing a flammable liquid, commonly known as a Molotov cocktail, was detonated in front of the entrance to the Carabinieri barracks in Borgo San Lorenzo, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Florence, on the border between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna. According to an initial reconstruction, the act was carried out by unknown persons in the very early hours of the morning. The incendiary device caused no casualties but only minor material damage to the entrance door of the barracks. Investigators are currently examining the scene to identify the perpetrators and are also reviewing footage from surrounding surveillance cameras. Local media outlets have reported that no potential motives have been discounted at this stage.
