A high-explosive device was detonated on the balcony of a criminal’s residence in the south-eastern outskirts of Rome, resulting in the partial destruction of the building’s exterior, the collapse of sections of the structure, and damage to vehicles parked on the adjacent street. According to journalistic sources, the intended target of the attack was a 30-year-old individual involved in drug trafficking, who was present in the building during the explosion but was not injured, as were the other residents of the building. Law enforcement, forensic police, and bomb disposal units all intervened on site. The recently constructed building has been declared partially uninhabitable by the Fire Department. It is conceivable that the explosive device may have been constructed using plastic explosives.
