Malaria outbreak in Ethiopia, update

WHO’s ‘Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response’ (IDSR), from Epidemiological week 1 to 46 of 2024, reports a total of 8,451,423 cases of Malaria in Ethiopia, with 1,230 deaths. In particular, in Epi week 46 (end on November 17, 2024), 354,259 cases of infection were reported, revealing a decrease of 1.2% compared to the previous Epi week of 2024. A total of 21 new deaths were reported in Epi week 46 of 2024. In the aforementioned period of time, around 1,255 Ethiopian districts (Woredas) reported at least one case of malaria.
