The data showcased during the presentation of the Liguria Region’s Vaccination Plan demonstrated a notable increase in vaccinations, with a 6% rise compared to the previous year. This equates to 270,000 doses administered, a significant increase from the 255,000 administered during the same period in 2023. Most doses (184,629) were administered to individuals aged 65 and above, who are considered to be at the highest risk according to ministerial recommendations. Additionally, 42,549 doses were distributed to individuals between the ages of 7 and 59. The latest data from the epidemiological monitoring of the Italian Istituto Superiore di Sanità indicates that most individuals affected by parainfluenza syndromes are children below four, with an incidence rate of 33.27 cases per thousand patients. This figure is significantly higher than the national average of 19.41 cases per thousand patients in the same age group. In the overall population of Liguria, the incidence is 5.55 cases per thousand (8.08 nationally), which is above the average even in the 10-14-year age group (9.10 cases against 7.75 cases per thousand). Conversely, adults and the elderly are less affected.
