What happened

The personnel of the Milan Guardia di Finanza discovered a quantity of homemade explosives, intended for sale at the forthcoming winter festivities, concealed within the vehicle of a 21-year-old male suspect. The explosives, which included 104 sticks and 50 so-called ‘onions’, were located within the vehicle boot. A home workshop was discovered at the residence of the male arrested on charges of possession and carrying explosive material. The workshop was used for the manufacture and packaging of explosives for sale. A variety of chemical substances were discovered in the vicinity of the young man’s residence, including aluminium powder and potassium nitrate. Additionally, rolls of paper, fuses, and precision balances—which were utilized in the construction of explosives—were also found. The investigation that resulted in the identification of the young man got underway following an analysis of websites dedicated to the sale of illicit fireworks and bangers, according to media reports.
