The European Centre for Disaster Medicine (CEMEC) has entered into two significant collaborative agreements with the European Council for Disaster Medicine (ECDM) and the International CBRNe Institute (ICI). The signing ceremony was held at the Val de Sambre Fire Station, which serves as a pivotal operational hub for rescue and training operations within the Wallonia region, Belgium. The ECDM’s objective is to facilitate the advancement of Disaster Medicine in Europe through the promotion of research, the dissemination of knowledge, and the provision of support for humanitarian initiatives. In parallel, the ICI’s mission is to enhance CBRNe risk mitigation on a global scale through the advancement of research, the delivery of training, and the advancement of professional development for responders. These agreements demonstrate a joint commitment to enhance Disaster Medicine in Europe, particularly by reducing the risks posed by chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive threats on the continent.
