What happened

The Bulletin released on the Italian Ministry of Health website indicates that the number of cases and deaths from Coronavirus in the country has declined in the past week. From November 7 to November 13, 2,631 new cases were reported, which reflects a decrease from the 3,911 cases recorded in the previous week. Additionally, the number of deaths associated with Coronavirus decreased from 96 last week to 86 in the most recent week. As indicated in the data published on the Italian Government’s dedicated page, the vaccination campaign shows a relatively low number of adhesions. From the outset of the 2024-2025 vaccination campaign to the present, only 281,964 doses have been administered. According to Massimo Andreoni, the scientific director of the Italian Society of Infectious and Tropical Diseases (SIMIT), out of a pool of patients eligible for immunisation amounting to 18 million, including the elderly, frail, and immunocompromised, less than 2% have undergone the anti-Covid vaccination to date.
