What happened

According to a local medical source, the town of al-Hilaliya in Sudan is experiencing an outbreak of cholera among its population. Al-Hilaliya is under siege by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Reports indicate that people have fallen ill with diarrhea, stomach pain, and vomiting, overwhelming a local hospital. Those who managed to escape from the town have tested positive for cholera. With the ongoing fighting and mass looting, access to clean water and medicines has become increasingly difficult. While there are discrepancies in the number of deaths, several residents claim that more than 400 people have been killed by the outbreak.
