An improvised explosive device (IED) detonation in the El Ali Gedi locality of Mogadishu’s Karaan district resulted in the fatalities of three civilians and caused injuries to several others. The blast’s acoustic impact extended across adjacent areas. Although the intended target of the explosion remains undetermined, district security forces conducted a post-incident investigation without identifying or apprehending any suspects. As of the report, no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack, although the tactic used seems to be typical of al-Shabab, a group that is already known for perpetrating such attacks in Somalia.
