ECDM at the ICONS24 Conference in Vienna

The European Centre for Disaster Medicine (ECDM-CEMEC) was an active participant in the 24th International Conference on Nuclear Safety (ICONS24), held in Vienna, Austria, from 20 to 24 May 2024. The organisation contributed to the technical discussions aimed at improving nuclear safety in the field of medicine, as well as training future professionals in health and nuclear safety. In separate working sessions, professionals from a range of sectors discussed how to increase awareness and adopt emerging technologies in healthcare environments, as well as the importance of education in preparing for the next generation of nuclear safety experts. The ECDM emphasised the need for integration of disaster medicine with global nuclear safety initiatives, underscoring the importance of ongoing training and international collaboration.
