According to the WHO, there have been reported 11 cases in total (10 confirmed and one probable) including 8 deaths, across two Bangladesh Divisions, with a Case Fatality Rate (CFR) of 73%. The Bangladesh’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has implemented a multisectoral response that includes strengthened surveillance activities, case management, infection prevention and control, and risk communication campaigns. World Health Organization (WHO) assesses the risk as high at national level, moderate at regional level, and low at global level.
