What happened

Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $162 million contract to produce and supply the U.S. Navy with JCREW/DRAKE 2.0, a next-generation counter-drone and counter-IED system that employs intelligent jamming techniques to selectively disrupt threats while maintaining the integrity of friendly communications. The system can seamlessly switch between counter-drone and counter-IED mode without requiring software changes, thanks to its open architecture that allows easy upgrades to meet new operational requirements, and can operate independently or with command-and-control systems, ensuring a layered defense for the military. It is still unknown how many JCREW/DRAKE 2.0 systems are being procured under the deal.
