COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations in Tuscany

The flu and coronavirus vaccination campaign starts on 1 October in Tuscany. The two initiatives will be carried out together in nursing homes, general practice clinics, children’s clinics, local health centres, and pharmacies. The vaccine will be free for guests at residential care homes, people over 60, very vulnerable people of any age, pregnant women, carers, and health and social care workers. The decision to provide the vaccine free of charge to certain population groups was taken to reduce mortality, hospitalisation, and severe disease incidence in elderly individuals with high frailty, as well as to protect pregnant women and those employed in the public health sector. Vaccination represents one of the most crucial and effective strategies for safeguarding individual and collective health.
