Italian police expel suspect terrorist in Modena

A series of investigations conducted by the State Police of Modena have revealed the presence of material associated with Islamic extremism on the mobile telephone of a foreign national who has been resident in Italy since 2011. The material in question was linked to publications and press releases produced by official IS bodies, including images and reports of terrorist attacks committed in various countries, as well as a guide on how to manufacture explosives and use incendiary devices. As a consequence of the investigation, the police department revoked his residence permit. Later, the Italian Ministry of the Interior issued an expulsion decree following a determination of guilt regarding causing aggravated injury to another person. Following the dismissal of his appeal against the decisions taken by Italian judicial and administrative bodies, the individual in concern was repatriated.
