What happened

Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi, 62, and Mostafa Eldidi, 26, a Canadian father and son, were accused of planning terrorist acts in Toronto on behalf of the Daesh/ISIS terrorist group. After a long investigation, the two, already with criminal records, were arrested on July 28 in the Toronto area. At the time of their arrest, they had an ax and a machete with them. According to CBC News, the elder Eldidi was already involved in an aggravated assault on behalf of ISIS outside Canada in 2015.
