The hacktivist group Nullbulge has claimed to have breached the cybersecurity systems of Disney’s messaging platform Slack and leaked approximately 1.2 terabytes of online data. This data includes internal messaging, information on unpublished projects, unpublished images, and access codes. The cybercriminals stated that they managed to obtain these data thanks to cookies accepted by a man who had access to Slack. According to Nullbulge, the man realized the breach was occurring but could not block it. Nullbulge justified its action by stating that Disney poorly manages artists’ contracts, disrespects consumers, and uses questionable artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the group claimed they did not negotiate with Disney for the stolen data because the latter would not have been cooperative. After the cyber breach, Disney has initiated investigations.
