According to authorities, a suicide attacker drove an explosives-laden vehicle into a military compound, followed by several armed rebels who stormed it, killing at least three soldiers and wounding 12 others. The attack occurred in the garrison city of Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, on the border with Afghanistan. Local authorities and eyewitnesses have reported that the force of the explosion also devastated adjacent civilian residences, resulting in injuries to at least six individuals. Militants linked to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group took responsibility for the assault.
