The WHO “Weekly Bulletin on Outbreaks and other Emergencies” for week 26 (24 to 30 June 2024) reports that the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Mauritius released a public health alert on 4 May 2024 due to a rise in leptospirosis cases. From the start of the year, 20 cases were noted, five of which were in April. By 9 June 2024, the case count reached 42, with seven fatalities.
