What happened

AT&T reported a serious data breach where call logs of about 109 million customers were stolen from their Snowflake account between April 14 and April 25, 2024. Compromised data covers calls and text messages from mobile customers and virtual mobile network operators (MVNOs) between May and October 2022 and January 2023. Although the logs do not contain any content from the communications or sensitive personal information, metadata may be used to identify customers. AT&T has partnered with security and law enforcement experts, delaying the public announcement for security reasons. Currently, at least one person has been arrested and additional security measures have been implemented. There is no evidence that the data was made public and the incident is not related to the 2021 breach.
